Hi there - I have two things: First of all, I just want to say thanks so much for making this blog public, it's amazing to see the sort of "behind-the-scenes" of your gorgeous art. I also have a quick question, sorry! In Memorial, a lot of the (or maybe all, I'm not sure) text is on scraps of hessian material. I know you said on your website that some aspects were real and not drawn. Is this the case here? Thanks so much in advance. It's okay if you can't reply, you probably get a ton of these questions :). Anyway, it's for an assignment and I just wanted accurate info. Cheers!
Hi Isabel, I know what it's like to have an assignment due! Yes, the canvas (what most patches are) and hessian pieces are glued on to the artwork. Basically if it's easier to use a real thing rather than paint it, I'll use the real thing. Some works were too thick to scan, and photographed instead. Hope that helps!
